Our 2001 Midwest Meet turned out to be one
of our favorites because of the proximity to the International Hobby
Expo (Chicago Hobby Show), the excellent availability of models and
kits for sale by our participating vendors, and, as always, the extraordinary
modeling on display for our model contests!
The club would like to extend
a very special "thank you" to our participating vendors
who made this meet so successful: Tom Yagerhofer of Crescent Station,
Bob Leinbach of Boxcar Hobbies, Alex Petrovic of World Model Trains,
Keith Raikes, Doug Datta, Wayne Calder and Dellergo Models, Bob Kelley,
and Dan Goins' Zycon Models. Collectively, these folks offered models
and kits from all over the globe! Our participating manufacturers included
Athearn, Lonestar Models, Triple's Models, Puget Sound Casting Service,
Pen Bay Equipment, and E-R Models.
We'd also like to thank Vito Larucci
for organizing this event and all his and other area modelers' hospitality
over the weekend. For photos of our modeling contest winners, check Photo Gallery 39! Also check
out the latest information from the 2001
